Grain magazine, "More Metal Than Skin"

Grain, the journal of eclectic writing, is a literary quarterly from the Saskatchewan Writers Guild that publishes engaging, eclectic, and challenging writing and art by Canadian and international writers and artists. Grain has gained national and international recognition for its content and design.

So I’m not sure what makes me happier, seeing one of my prose poems in the current issue of Grain or my good pal Betsy Rosenwald’s art on the cover. Betsy Rosenwald is a talent worth tracking. She’s also a dear friend, and a neighbour.

And she’s been having a great season. Earlier in 2021, Betsy and her studio mate Dawna Rose were the subject of an exhibition titled Journal of the Plague Year, hosted by gallery 330g in Saskatoon, http://330g.ca. Though the exhibition was held on the gallery walls, in a plague year it also needed to be shown online. The exhibition’s website is at https://rosenwaldrose.com

Here we are in Grain, bound together forever.
